What time are services?

Sunday morning services are at 9:15 am (Traditional) and 10:40 am (Contemporary). Nursery is available during both services. There is an excellent children's ministry available during the 10:40 service, too! Immediately following the 10:40pm worship is our coffee fellowship in Wesley Fellowship Hall. All of our guests and visitors are invited to attend coffee fellowship in order to meet those in our congregation. Enjoy coffee and refreshments while mingling with other Christians at SUMC!

Where do I go when I get there?

The church is laid out with easy-to-find classrooms and a large sanctuary that can seat up to four hundred people. Please view our map (HERE) to assist you in finding your way around.

What things can my kids participate in during the services?

Summerside UMC is proud to provide an excellent children’s ministry, Kids For Christ, during our 10:40 Sunday morning service.  It is our own version of Sunday School.  See the Children's Ministry section and the Youth Ministry section for more information and about other offerings for your kids.

Kids for Christ (age 4 to 5th grade): 10:40am-noon
Youth Bible Study (6th grade-12th grade): 10:40am-noon

Nursery services are provided for small ones, aged three and under.

What should I wear?

Here at Summerside UMC there is no dress code. Dress in the manner most comfortable to you for any of our services. Some choose to dress up, some dress more casually. To us, it is more important that you are here with us, not what you are wearing.

Can I participate in communion?

All Christians may take communion at Summerside United Methodist Church, even if they are not yet members of the church.

Communion is a sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ as a way to remember his life, death, and resurrection. As we participate in communion, we encounter the living Christ. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month in our Services. Servers stand by the Communion Table with loaves of bread and chalices of grape juice. Worshipers walk to the front, take a tiny piece of bread, and dip it into the grape juice, partake, then return to their seats.

I have more questions... what do I do?
